I graduated last year from a popular University in Illinois with a degree in Business Management. Due to the high unemployment rate in our area, I found it really difficult to find a new job that suits my qualifications. I struggled for months applying from one company to another.

Finally, I thought to myself, maybe there would be greater opportunities in other cities or states. So I gathered up my remaining resources and contemplated on moving to another city. Upon careful consideration if I would have enough, I was disappointed to find out that transferring to another city requires more than I could afford.

The recession has been beating us hard for the past months. We have been struggling to keep up on our mortgage payments and are finding everyday a challenge to make ends meet.

The other day my friend Tony asked me to go the boxing gym with him. He told me I should get some gloves, handwraps, and some headgear. I found a set of gloves in my basement, and figured I could do without the headgear and handwraps. Tony thought it would be a great idea for me to do some sparring on my first day at the gym. He matched me up with a guy who looked like a crossbreed of the Incredible Hulk and a pitbull. I prayed for my life. I got into the ring and within 30 seconds, I was lying on the ground and the room was spinning. It was at that moment I really regretted not using headgear. I had a minor concussion and had to sit on a bench for about 2 hours before leaving the gym. My friend asked me why I didn’t bring headgear (like that would have saved me from the beast in the opposite corner). I told him that I didn’t have the cash on me to buy the gear.
