Last month, I gave out my information in response to a text message claiming to be from a legitimate bank. Since then, I couldn’t use my credit card for important purchases and bill payments. Oh how I HATE the winters we get here in Chicago. They get so cold sometimes I think about picking up and moving out to Florida or somewhere else where it’s always warm. This is turning into the Age of Creative Financing.  With the banks in meltdown, my own finances as well, a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do.

My short story is this: In the past 12 months, I’ve gotten laid off, got bad credit from unpaid bills, been so short on cash I cut the land line phone.  Then a buddy from Kellogg called asking me to come help him with his business in Boston.  All I had to do was get there and I could live with him and work for a few weeks for good pay.
