I was out to dinner in downtown Chicago at the Cheesecake Factory when Joey got sick. His face turned red and it looked like he was trying to hold something in. I could tell there was something wrong before that because he hadn’t said a word on the ride over. That’s not like Joey. Normally I can’t get him to shut up. We hadn’t eaten a bite of food and something was wrong. He grabbed his stomach.

As a mom I knew I needed to take him out of there right away. I left my husband and our two other kids at the cheesecake factory while I headed down to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. When we got there Joey started throwing up blood all over. He ruined magazines and messed up the carpet. They took him in right away and he had to get his appendix removed.

My insurance wouldn’t cover it. It was something about how I had not preplanned it, etc. etc. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t have the credit right now to pay off the bills. I looked into getting a car title loan and found out that car title loans in Chicago are easy to get and I can use the money however I need.

Now Joey is back to his normal self. I can’t get him to be quiet no matter what I do. Too bad he only had one appendix.
