I am a high school grad who married his longtime sweetheart right after we got out of school. Things are kind of tough, money-wise, from time to time, although we do manage to get by with what I earn from working days at the meatpacking plant and some nights as a DJ. I really wish I could have more time to do what I enjoy, although the work I have to do almost always gets in the way.

My job as a loader at the plant is physically demanding, although I find that the quantifiable toil and repetitive tasks give me a lot of time for introspection. The night job I have on weekends is the exact opposite – it doesn’t tire me out physically, but mentally, as many musicians are after a long performance. I work at a couple of clubs and have a fantastic time spinning records and making mixes in Schaumburg, Glenview, Hammond, Gary, Joliet, Oak Lawn, Cicero, and Naperville, although I knew that I had to get some better equipment to become better.

I didn’t have to throw out my existing deck, but I needed the addition of another (plus a new mixer) so I could do more things to the ‘stock’ music I had. Unfortunately, I was on a shoestring budget. I am absolutely ticked off about the Chicago Bears this year.  I was under the impression that Kyle Orton would be ready enough to at least guide the Chicago Bears to the playoffs.  Unfortunately, this was not the case.  As it seemed the offense still can’t seem to consistently put up points game after game.  Forte on the other hand was a pleasant surprise this year and probably saved the Bears from finishing the season with a losing record.  The Bears defense seemed surprisingly inconsistent as well which tells me there needs to be some re-assessments made there as well.  And the biggest pin prick for me is simply the fact that I spent thousands of dollars on Bears memorabilia this year thinking they would make it to the playoffs.  Now I am flat broke and its tax season.  I need to come up with money fast before I get penalized for not paying my taxes in time!

Unfortunately, bills are due in a few days too. I should have planned things better. Apparently, you can fill out an online application for a car title loan in Chicago.  Its just like an installment loan but easier and faster. I guess applications take two minutes to fill out! Life will be back to normal soon - I just need to weather this little storm.  I love living Chicago and love being Schaumburg, IL.  It could always be worse.  Thank goodness for car title loans in Chicago.  Fast cash when I really needed it.

I moved to the suburbs for a reason. I wanted a playground for my kids. I know it sounds crazy. and it seems like a stupid little reason. But did you know that physical activity can increase IQ by up to 30%. That means of course that the child has gone without physical stimulation. But many of the kids in the city never get to do anything stimulating. It’s deadly.

And that IQ carries on into better teaching and more learning. It just keeps growing. And in the long run that means more $$$. It was a pretty difficult decision deciding which playground we wanted to get at home depot. But once my wife and I decided we were dead set on it. Only problem was we didn’t have enough money at the time.
